If Tiger Woods is singing your praises then you are doing something right in the golfing world and the 15-time major winner has took time out to nod towards experienced duo Gary Player and Bernhard Langer.

Woods lost out to Langer in a playoff at the PNC Championship this weekend. However, it was a memorable weekend for Woods, who saw son Charlie make a hole in one in the second round.

For Langer and his son Jason, it was another win at the PNC to go with their success in 2023, and they’re now on for a three-peat heading into 2025.

Indeed, Woods lauded Langer for playing one of the best shots he’s ever seen and speaking to the media afterwards, Tiger once again praised Langer, as well as 89-year-old Gary Player, for how they’re able to keep going.

Tiger Woods praises Gary Player and Bernhard Langer

Speaking to the press after the tournament drew to a close, Woods was asked about how impressive it is for the likes of Langer to keep going and keep winning.

And answering the question, Woods made sure to mention Gary Player as well as a great example.

“Well, it’s a commitment to a lifestyle. You look at what Gary has done over the years. He’s still out here competing at 89 years old, and look what Bernie has done over the years. That consistency to healthy lifestyle, training, just that ability to focus, and commitment to fitness,” Woods said.

“I mean, most of the golf community, they are willing to embrace fitness. Gary and Bernie were at forefront of it, and look how much they are able to enjoy it on the back end.”

How Gary Player did at the PNC Championship 2024

While golf fans were furious with Langer getting to use the forward tees, there was none of that towards Player, who is approaching his 90th birthday.

Player has so many grandchildren that he holds an 18-hole playoff to decide who gets the honour of playing the PNC with him.

This year, Player was alongside youngest grandson Alex Hall and while they finished second bottom, they still shot 10 under par for the tournament.

With Player making an eagle on day one, he very much showed there’s life in the old dog yet and with Tiger Woods approaching his 50s, he’ll take great heart from seeing Player and others still competing.
