American Sam Burns produced a remarkable shot on the 18th during the first round of the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities in Minnesota.
The 28-year-old headed to the final tee level par for his round, eight shots back of the lead.
After narrowly missing the water with his second shot to the par five, Burns’ ball was nestled deep within some rocks near the side of the green.
Taking an unusual stance, the world number 30 managed to chop his ball high into the air and land it within tap in distance of the pin, leading to a birdie and an opening round of 70.
And it’s fair to say golf fans loved what they saw.

Sam Burns looking to capitalise on weaker field at 3M Open
Burns is part of a weaker field at this week’s 3M Open, where Tony Finau is the defender champion. Billy Horschel was meant to feature. However, the American was forced to withdraw at the last minute.
The world number 30 is coming off an impressive T31 finish at The Open Championship, where his third-round 65 caught the eye.
However, Burns will no doubt be disappointed with how he started at TPC Twin Cities, with the leaders now in a commanding position.
Nevertheless, the 28-year-old is in good shape in the FedEx Cup points standings and will fancy his chances of making it through to the season-ending Tour Championship at the end of August.
