Rickie Fowler has shared who wins the most often when he takes on close friends and fellow PGA stars, Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth.

The popular American trio remain three of the big names in the sport and on the PGA Tour and all played their part in the raucous Waste Management Open this weekend.

All three have had huge success on the course over the years as well.

Fowler has yet to win a major but has finished second in three of the four, while he also came third at the PGA in 2014. Thomas, of course, has got over the line more than once, winning the PGA Championship in both 2017 and 2022.

Spieth, meanwhile, can complete a career grand slam by winning the PGA himself having won the rest.

The trio will have their eyes on more success this year and with The Masters just months away, will be gearing up for a big run at winning at Augusta.

Of course, they are all close friends in terms of players on tour and have no doubt played alongside and against each other countless times over the years.

But Fowler, speaking to Barstool’s Dan Rapaport, has revealed that when it comes to ‘money matches’, one man takes home the bacon more often.

“JT,” Fowler quipped when asked who wins the most money matches.

“I’ve had to pay him more over the recent times, for sure.”

Rickie Fowler will be desperate to break his majors duck

It must sting Rickie Fowler a little bit that he’s never quite got over the line in the majors. Three seconds and a third is a tough one to take and he’s never quite got back to those levels either.

He did show signs last year of making a bit of a resurgence but he looked a touch out of sorts at the WM Open this weekend and will hope to do better in future tournaments.

With Spieth and Thomas both having won and won well, Fowler will be desperate to get the monkey off his back.

Losing in money matches is hard enough to take, but knowing you’re losing when you’re the only one not to have won big out of the three is harsh.

Fowler, then, will be working hard to win one this year and a lot of golf fans would love him to finally get over the line.
