The Waste Management Open has been quite the event again this year and Max Homa has shared his favourite exchange from the supporting fans.

The WM Open is known for its massive crowds around the 16th hole and this week has seen things get a bit out of hand at times it must be said.

However, in the main, most people have behaved in spirit and some of the chants and reactions from the crowd have been typically priceless.

Indeed, it seems US favourite Jordan Spieth was among those to cause a stir after making a bogey on the famous hole.

And after witness Spieth’s four on 16, Max Homa has shared what he believed to be a funny moment between the fans in the stands.

Taking to X on social media to share his best moment of the fans in Phoenix, Homa had the following to say.

“Highlight of the fans from the week: Thursday on 16 Spieth made a bogey and a group of dudes chanted “overrated”. Within 3 seconds the rest of the crowd started to boo them for the blasphemy. Even the savages have rules,” Homa wrote.

16th at the Waste Management is quite the spectacle

While things have gone a bit overboard in some ways this week, a lot of that is probably down to the weather playing havoc and leaving fans with more free time on their hands to go and get their hands on more alcohol.

In the main, though, the 16th at the WM remains one of the most fun holes to watch as spectator.

The roar that goes up when someone sticks one close is quite the noise and Homa points this out in another tweet how much he enjoys that noise.

His story here is one of fun and just shows that even among the fans, there are certain rules and respect that has to be abided by.
