Joaquin Niemann is a man in form heading into The Masters, leading the LIV Golf individual standings ahead of the major championship.
Niemann has been backed for Masters contention, with the Chilean having received an invite to play in the tournament for the second successive year.
Phil Mickelson thinks Niemann is the world’s best golfer right now, with both LIV Golf players involved at Augusta National this week.
The duo are among 12 players from the rival tour taking part in The Masters, along with the likes of Sergio Garcia and Bryson DeChambeau.
Niemann secured his best finish at Augusta of T16 in 2023, having made five starts at the major at this stage of his career.

Rick Shiels thinks Joaquin Niemann can win multiple major championships
He heads to Georgia after finishing T33 at LIV Golf Miami, where he also took part in The Duels contest alongside Rick Shiels.
Discussing the Chilean ahead of The Masters, the YouTuber said on The Rick Shiels Golf Show: “We came tied third. Me and Joaquin Niemann.
“I say we, I was very much there for support. I holed some really good putts but Joaquin Niemann absolutely carried us.

“He is genuinely one of the greatest golfers I have had the pleasure of playing with. If he doesn’t win, I was going to say 10 majors but that might be too many.
“But if he doesn’t win multiple majors he has not fulfilled his potential. Every part of his game is sensational.
“You know how you know a good player, when you get in a horrible spot and you and me would look it and go this is horrendous.
“We had this situation on 17 where we had short sided ourselves and had a front pin, it was awful. I was looking at it thinking I am never getting up and down from here, give me 100 balls and unless I thin one into the pin and it drops next to the hole, I don’t think I’m going to get it up and down.
“He was licking his lips. He was like I love this shot. I am thinking this is the separator and he hit this bunker shot which had so much spin on it.
“And again up and down on the last hole, we were in contention and four under par, we needed to make birdie to get into the playoff.
“I hit a really good drive and it’s a really hard hole, I just caught the water. Niemann just stood up there, no fear, and just striped one 310 yards down the middle of the fairway.
“There was water left and danger everywhere but he just didn’t care. He has this kind of killer instinct in him.”
What is Joaquin Niemann’s history at The Masters?
Aged 26, Niemann won twice on the PGA Tour before joining LIV Golf, where he is the current captain of Torque GC.
That T16 finish in 2023 represents his best major championship finish overall, with the Chilean now looking to improve upon that record in what will be his sixth Masters appearance.

He also finished T33 in Riyadh this season, but won in Adelaide and Singapore either side of a T12 finish in Hong Kong.
