The PGA Tour is rapidly heading towards the Masters at Augusta National, but up this week is the Valspar Championship.

The Copperhead Course is among the toughest courses on the PGA Tour, which plays host to the 2025 Valspar Championship.

World numbers one and two Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy respectively are not in the field, where the action is already underway.

Xander Schauffele is, however, in action at the Valspar Championship, along with the likes of Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Thomas.

The Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Golf Resort in Florida is a par 71, and certainly looks very different to a new golf course concept that has just been presented.

Wesley Bryan proposes new golf course concept

PGA Tour player Wesley Bryan, who runs the Bryan Bros Golf social media account with his brother George, has suggested the new design on X.

It comprises six par 5s, six par 4s (two drivable), and six par threes (two under 100 yards, with no bunkers and only waste areas.

Moreover, there is no primary rough, only intermediate cut, with 10-yard wide fairways and small undulating greens.

Bryan added that “Every hole would have 30+ yards of intermediate cut before waste areas/trees to make it visually look the same from trouble to trouble,” and “Average golfers would prefer to hit from a slightly fluffier lie. Tour players prefer tight fairway.

“This way the best players would only get rewarded for perfect drives. Average players will hit better shots from intermediate cut.”

And when a fan questioned the absence of bunkers, he replied: “Waste areas. Meaning everyone can ground their club in the sand. This is to make it more friendly for the average golfer.”

How has Wesley Bryan done on the PGA Tour in 2025?

The Bryan Bros have become big hits on social media in recent times, and are part of an exciting and rapidly growing era of YouTube golf.

It includes the likes of Grant Horvat and Fat Perez, who alongside Wesley and George Bryan and others just took on the Creator Classic at TPC Sawgrass.

Horvat won the Creator Classic, which involved 10 content creators playing nine holes ahead of the Players Championship.

He outlasted Chris Solomon and George Bryan on the first playoff hole, with Wesley Bryan finishing well back on six-over.

The Bryan Bros meanwhile certainly know a thing or two about golf, and even have their own course for YouTubers, which they bought two years ago.

Wesley meanwhile has taken on three PGA Tour events this season, missing cuts at The American Express and the Puerto Rico Open either side of a T25 finish at the Farmers Insurance Open.
