YouTube golf star Wesley Bryan is still competing sporadically on the PGA Tour despite losing his full card last year.
During the RSM Classic–the final FedEx Cup Fall event–Bryan lost his PGA Tour status after missing the cut at Sea Island Golf Club.
Despite relinquishing his card, Bryan wanted to play Tour events when opportunities arose in 2025, and he’s done just that. The YouTube star found himself in the field for the Farmers Insurance Open after the Torrey Pines event was hit with a host of withdrawals.
Bryan finished the Farmers Insurance in a tie for 25th. The 34-year-old found himself in a promising position before falling away during the final round. He also played The American Express but missed the 54-hole cut.
Wesley Bryan reacts after missing out on Mexico Open

This weekend’s Mexico Open is a golden chance for some of the Tour’s lesser-known players to earn FedEx Cup points, with many of the big-name players taking time off ahead of the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players Championship.
Bryan, however, headed to Mexico with his spot in the field unconfirmed. Starting the week as an alternate, the YouTuber was relying on a late dropout to secure his spot. Unfortunately, the withdrawal did not materialise.
Taking on X on Thursday, Bryan delivered his thoughts on his wasted trip to Puerto Vallarta.
“Update: Flew to Mexico. Didn’t get into the tournament as an alternate. Bummer. Up next: maybe @the_cognizant, fingers crossed. Hope to see y’all next week in Palm Beach Gardens. End of update,” Bryan wrote.
Wesley Bryan says who is to blame at Mexico Open
Responding to a comment from a fan on X, Bryan admitted he was the only one to blame after heading to Mexico.
“I came on my own dime, made my own decision…it turned out to be a terrible one,” he added. “I could have easily earned my way in with better play. Don’t blame the tour, blame me.”
Englishman Harry Hall is in a tie for the lead after round one of the Mexico Open. Hall shot even under and is joined by Jeremy Paul and Kristoffer Ventura on the same number.
Former European Ryder Cup star Francesco Molinari is five under alongside Akshay Bhatia. The American is one of the highest-ranked players in this week’s field.
