World number one Nelly Korda is arguably the highest-profile name teeing it up in this week’s Grant Thornton Invitational.
The event at Tiburon Golf Club combines the best of both the men’s and women’s games. The three-round event – which starts on Friday – combines three different formats: round one is a scramble, round two is foursomes, and the third round is a modified four-ball.
Korda was meant to partner with Tony Finau this week. However, Finau has pulled out after previously missing the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas.
Finau’s latest withdrawal comes after the six-time PGA Tour winner was heavily linked with a LIV Golf move.
Daniel Berger will instead partner Korda. The 31-year-old recently finished T2 at the season-ending RSM Classic.
Nelly Korda has new driver in the bag at Grant Thornton Invitational

Korda’s last outing came at the CME Group Tour Championship, where she finished in a tie for fifth. During the LPGA finale, which also took place at Tiburon, Korda was using Taylormade’s Qi10 driver, which is popular among professionals.
However, at this week’s event, Korda will test out Taylormade’s latest Qi35 model before it goes on general sale.
Taylormade sponsors the world number one, and she often appears in YouTube videos alongside some of the brand’s biggest names, including Scottie Scheffler, Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.
When will Taylormade’s Qi35 driver be released?
The Qi35 has officially hit the USGA’s conforming list, which means the new driver could well be seen as soon as the PGA Tour season gets underway at The Sentry.
So far, we know that four versions will be produced: a Qi35 (Version 1), a Qi35 LS (Version 2), a Qi35 Max, and a Qi35 LS (LH).
Currently, the only images available on the USGA website are black and white. However, the club in Korda’s bag appears to be similar to the previous iteration.
The LS, Max, and Version 1 will be available in 9 and 10.5 degrees of loft, and Version 2 will be available in 8, 9, and 10.5.
At present, there’s no news on when the Qi35 will be available or what price the new driver will be worth.
