Michael Kim produced a solid weekend showing at The RSM Classic to finish in a tie for 12th.

The American carded four sub-par rounds at Sea Island but failed to keep pace with the leaders on Sunday.

Michael Thorbjornsen and Luke Clanton were among those chasing the RSM title, and Kim has shared his thoughts on the up-and-coming duo after playing alongside them during the final PGA Tour event of the season.

Despite Maverick McNealy clinching victory, Kim was impressed by what he saw from Clanton and Thorbjornsen.

23-year-old Thorbjornsen has played four FedEx Cup fall events and finished eighth at the Sanderson Farms Championship.

Clanton has also caught the eye of Smylie Kaufman, and there’s no doubt the 21-year-old will go on to be a high-ranking player.

Now, Kim has shared what it was like playing alongside the duo.

“Played with Thorbjornsen and Clanton. Obviously massive talents,” Kim wrote.

“Their games are a bit different. Clanton likes to hit more shots like JT, and Thor is more set in stone like Collin/Bryson. None of us had our A games, but it was fun to see a young, bold golfer mentality with the good and the bad.”

Kim also shared what he noticed about their putting on Sea Island.

“They both hit their putts with aggressive speeds from 10-30 ft. Most seasoned pros play softer speeds,” he added.

“You can make more, but it can also lead to 3 putts, which happened a couple of times. It was impressive to see both make some adjustments to slowly figure out their drivers mid-round as we all got off to shaky starts off the tee.

“My only advice to them would be to find a workout routine, stick to it, and not be so aggressive when chipping on the easier ones. Just get it as close as possible. Too many times, I saw balls run by 4-6 feet because they wanted to make it. Other than that, off to the races with both of them.”

Luke Clanton’s 2024 PGA Tour record

Clanton is currently the world’s number-one amateur player and will undoubtedly go on to achieve great things on the PGA Tour.

Despite recent success, the highlight of Clanton’s season came at the US Open, where he made the cut and finished T41 at Pinehurst No.2. Very few players his age have achieved such a feat.

Clanton also placed runner-up at the John Deere Classic, which was arguably the high point of his season.

More recently, at the Wyndham Championship, Clanton finished fifth. Clanton, however, will end the season empty-handed after opting to remain an amateur. The 21-year-old would’ve earned over $1.8m in prize money.
