Max Homa will be looking to prove a point to US Team captain Jim Furyk at the Presidents Cup this week.
Homa missed the Procore Championship cut earlier this month, alongside fellow US Presidents Cup Team player Wyndham Clark.
It certainly wasn’t a good look for the pair, or indeed for Furyk, who sparked plenty of controversy with his selections.
After the top six players qualified for the Presidents Cup at Royal Montreal, the captain then selected the next six players in the points list.
Among them was Homa, with Clark among the automatic qualifiers alongside the likes of Scottie Scheffler and Xander Schauffele.

Max Homa shares Royal Montreal verdict after Presidents Cup practice round
They are all getting to know each other better after practising on the course, with Sahith Theegala labelling Royal Montreal’s front nine ‘almost boring’.
In his Presidents Cup press conference, Homa has now shared his thoughts on the course after his latest practice round, saying: “I really like it. It’s very interesting. The front nine is incredibly different from the back. The greens are interesting. They all have like a spine in them.

“It seems like if you’re hitting your irons well you’re going to have a lot of short-ish birdie putts and it will be quite flat. But if you don’t hit your spot you will have some funky two-putts.
“It will be interesting, I think, for the best-ball days or matches. Because the rules typically try to get two birdies looks, but if you’re not in the right section, it’s kind of like an up-and-down. I think that will be cool.
“I like it, though. It’s challenging. It’s longer than I thought. I know they have added length. It’s pretty demanding and we’ve played in a lot of wind the last couple days so that might have thrown us off a little bit far as what the golf course might lead to with birdies and whatnot.”
Can Max Homa impress Jim Furyk at the Presidents Cup?
Homa will certainly be feeling the pressure at the Presidents Cup, with Furyk’s selections really needing to perform.
That is, of course, also the case for the automatic qualifiers, who should be leading the way for the US Team this week in terms of points scoring.
In a huge blow to Homa, however, he was left out of the opening day action by Furyk, which will come as a massive disappointment.

Still, there will be plenty of opportunities to shine at Royal Montreal, with Homa also sharing a prediction about how the players will score on the course.
“Today wasn’t exactly a birdiefest out there but looks like the wind is going to die down,” he said after his practice round.
“With the rain, I think you’ll see low scores but not as many birdies maybe as a typical Cup from what I’ve been involved in.”
