Max Homa continues his search for a seventh PGA Tour win this week, as he takes on the Truist Championship.

Homa is among a very strong field for the 2025 Truist Championship, where Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele are also involved.

A six-time PGA Tour winner, Homa can hold his head high after The Masters, having finished T12 at Augusta National.

But his winning drought has continued in 2025 so far, with Homa last winning back at the 2023 Farmers Insurance Open.

He took on the RBC Heritage immediately after The Masters, finishing 70th as fellow American Justin Thomas clinched the title.

Max Homa wants hard work to pay off after ‘really weird’ swing issue

And Homa has now shared an honest verdict on his current level ahead of his next event, having been asked if he thinks his issues are more mechanical or confidence related.

“I think they are a bit hand in hand,” he told Golf Channel. “It’s been more mechanical. It just doesn’t feel the same when I get under pressure on a Thursday.

“You know, when it really matters, it doesn’t have the same flow. Something has been off and it feels like we have been chasing it.

“I haven’t had the same feel or thought for weeks at a time. A week-and-a-half ago I watched two hours of my own YouTube swings from weeks where I have played well, especially Riviera, when I got second.

“And I just tried to find what in there I should be like the staple of my swing. I think some time here, I was telling my coach the other day, it feels like home a little bit.

“I feel like I know the misses a little bit and I think knowing the misses, that is how your confidence starts to go with it.

“I’m definitely optimistic. It feels a lot more reputable and it feels more like my golf swing. But swing changes are hard.

“I got stuck in a really weird spot, the golf club has been really behind me, so it has just been a long time trying to get it back in front of me and you’re playing against the best players in the world on some really hard golf courses, so it’s not the best place to feel comfy doing that. I have been exposed quite a few times but I work hard, so I am waiting for the hard work to pay off.”

But aside from impressing at The Masters, it has been a very frustrating season for the 34-year-old so far.

Along with an early withdrawal at the Farmers Insurance Open, Homa already has five missed cuts to his name.
