Max Homa enjoyed a superb second round at the PGA Championship, with his seven-under 64 helping him rise up the leaderboard.
Homa was open about his golf swing in his round two analysis, after he carded an opening round two-over 73.
Quail Hollow is playing host to the 2025 PGA Championship, which Homa entered after finishing T30 at the Truist Championship.
That represented one of just five cuts made in the PGA Tour season so far for Homa, who also has five missed cuts and a withdrawal to his name.
He did, however, record his best finish of 2025 at The Masters last month, ending T12 at Augusta National.

Whether Max Homa offered Bones the chance to be his caddie before PGA Championship
And that came despite the American splitting with his longtime caddie and childhood friend Joe Greiner just before.
Homa has now discussed his current situation in his latest PGA Championship press conference, where he referenced a call with renowned caddie Jim ‘Bones’ Mackay.

Questioned if he asked Bones if he was interested in taking on the role, Homa said: “No. Bones, if he wanted to, would have offered, I feel like.
“No, Bones has been one of the best buddies I could have. We go to Thanksgiving at his house. His family has been amazing to us.

“He doesn’t… I think he likes where his life’s at right now. I don’t think he… I would never ask him to be a part of like this massive grind and rebuild.
“It would be a little different if I was… you know, when he came back and worked with Justin [Thomas], who’s one of the best players on the planet.
“Yeah, it could have been fun, but at the end of the day, Bones and I are buddies, and I was just calling to lean on him and ask him for some advice.”
Max Homa explains why it is so difficult to change caddies
As Homa alluded to, Bones spent time on the bag of Thomas, after a very lengthy spell working with Phil Mickelson.
Homa meanwhile, following his surprise split from Greiner, has ended up pairing with Bill Harke, who Bones thinks is very underrated.
Sharing his verdict, Homa commented: “Yeah, Bill has been awesome. It’s really hard to change caddies. I was talking to my wife about that last night.
“You’re in like a full relationship day one. You’re out there with him, first day is probably eight hours. It’s not exactly a normal first date.

“So it can be tricky. Joe and I worked for so long and so well together that it’s never going to be exactly like that.
“We’ve been trying to kind of find our own groove. Bill is really amazing at the psychology of golf and talking to me and keeping me positive when I start to go a little dark.
“Especially at Augusta this year, he was amazing. I had two rounds where it was because of him what we did.
“Now that I’m playing a bit better the last two weeks, it’s trying to find our rhythm on like clubs and this and that.
“Yeah, it’s a learning curve, but I’ve really enjoyed being around him. He’s a Bay Area sports fan, which is hard, but that’s probably his worst quality.”
