Max Greyserman and Nico Echavarria are set to go head-to-head once more, this time at the WWT Championship in Mexico.

Echavarria won the ZOZO Championship with Greyserman just one shot back on 19 under. The American is still searching for his first PGA Tour victory after coming close on multiple occasions in 2024. Greyserman placed second at the Wyndham Championship and also finished runner-up at the 3M Open.

Greyserman and Echavarria are now tied for the lead at the Tiger Woods-designed El Cardonal golf course.

The American made eight birdies and an eagle on his way to an eight-under 64. Echavarria made seven birdies and an eagle in what was a superb bogey-free 63.

With the duo set to run it back, Greyserman was asked how he felt about trying finally best the Colombian.

Speaking during his second-round press duties, Greyserman admitted he’s looking forward to challenging the Colombian as he seeks his first PGA Tour victory.

“I thought, here we go again, let’s go,” Greyserman said.

“This is going to be fun. Same thing two weeks ago, so it’s going to be fun tomorrow.”

Echavarria’s victory at the ZOZO Championship was his second tour win after he claimed victory at the Puerto Rico Open during his rookie season in 2023.

Max Greyserman in red-hot PGA Tour form

Since the US Open, Greyserman has been one of the standout performers on the PGA Tour and was perhaps a little unfortunate not to earn a spot in the Tour Championship at East Lake.

The American is regularly in contention, and his first victory feels like a matter of time.

And Greyserman will hope this week’s event in Mexico will be the first of many PGA Tour wins. As the 2025 PGA Tour season approaches, Greyserman is undoubtedly a player who could compete with some of the tour’s elite stars.
