LIV Golf have made one of their first moves of the off-season by bringing in young Danish golfer Frederik Kjettrup to play on Martin Kaymer’s Cleeks GC.
Kjettrup will take his spot on the squad alongside Kaymer, Adrien Meronk and the experienced Richard Bland.
The Cleeks finished in the middle of the pack last year but with Kjettrup replacing Kalle Samooja, they’ll be hoping for more next season.

Kaymer has already called Kjettrup one of the brightest young talents in golf and the pressure will be on for the youngster to immediately produce.
However, Kaymer is unconcerned and he’s explained just why Kjettrup was targeted.

Martin Kaymer says why he was so keen to sign Frederik Kjettrup
Speaking to Bunkered after Kjettrup’s signing was confirmed, Kaymer spoke about what attracted the team to the young Dane.
And while there were several factors, the youngster’s ability to win was key.
“Several things attracted us,” Kaymer said.. “First of all, it’s very difficult becoming a professional and winning fairly early. I was lucky enough to win fairly quick in my career and I know how difficult it is to get that first win over the line. He backed it up with another win in just a few weeks. I thought that was an incredible achievement for someone who just finished school,” Kaymer said.
“But with Frederik, we had a good connection fairly quick. I believe next year it is vital we have a well functioning team in terms of team spirit. All four scores will count next year. You can’t relax and give up. I felt the attitude he had was serious. He had a great passion for the game.
“He’s still got the youth in him which is inspiring for our team. Richard [Bland] is turning 52. I’m turning 40 in a few days. Adrian [Meronk] is 30 and the young guy! It’s nice to have some freshness in the team.”
Who else are LIV Golf trying to sign for 2025?
There’s been plenty of chat about who might make the move to LIV for 2025 but so far, things have been relatively quiet.
Tony Finau appears to have ended rumours he would sign for LIV, while there have been rumours around Adam Scott jumping over as well.
For now, though, none of the bigger names seem close to arriving, albeit Lee Chieh-po won the Promotions Event in Riyadh to earn his spot on the LIV circuit.
In terms of big names, though, it looks like LIV might have hit a bit of a wall.
