Ludvig Aberg is fully focused on the Valero Texas Open this week, even with the Masters rapidly approaching.
Aberg is the highest-ranked player at the 2025 Valero Texas Open, with fellow top 10 player Hideki Matsuyama also involved in the final event before The Masters.
Aberg has impressed Justin Thomas this season, with the 25-year-old Swede having taken on the PGA Tour and TGL.
He does already have one PGA Tour win to his name in 2025, with Aberg emerging victorious at the Genesis Invitational.
But he missed the cut at the Players Championship last month, and was also forced to withdraw from the AT&T Pebble Beach earlier in the year.

Ludvig Aberg says his approach play is ‘not amazing’ ahead of The Masters
He has now shared insight into his roller-coaster season, with Aberg asked in his latest press conference to grade his approach play in 2025 and where he stands with it going into the Valero Texas Open.
“Not amazing, to be honest,” he said. “I felt like I was swinging it OK early on and a little bit better now, but I still sort of have this where my face gets a little bit open at the bottom and I can’t really turn.
“Like to get the face a little bit more shut and closer so I can turn and not necessarily flip my hands if I want to hit a nice little draw.
“Yeah, I think you’re always trying to get a little better at those things, but it’s definitely something that’s going to be important coming up in these next events where obviously Augusta is almost like a second shot golf course where you need to position yourself on the greens.
“Even this week as well. So I’d like to get that a little bit sharper and be able to gain a little bit more strokes that way.”

Ludvig Aberg not focusing on The Masters at the Valero Texas Open
Aberg will likely take confidence from last time out, having again taken on the Valero Texas Open before heading to Augusta.
He finished T14 in the former, before a superb display in the latter saw him finish solo second behind Scottie Scheffler.
The world number one ended on 11-under for his second major championship win, with Aberg finishing on seven-under.
Asked how that 2024 Valero start helped him prepare for The Masters and make it a no-brainer to repeat this year, he replied: “Yeah, I think so, I really enjoy this place.
“I like playing the week before just to sort of… now that I had two weeks off, I don’t want to say rust, I don’t like the word rust, but there’s getting into tournament mode and the golf course really prepares you for that.
“It’s a challenging golf course and you need to be very specific with your targets just like at Augusta where you have… obviously need to be on the correct side of things. This is a good way to prepare for that.
“But when I’m here and playing, I don’t really care about Augusta, I’m trying to be where I am and try to play well in this tournament, and then come Monday next week we’ll focus on Augusta.”
