Tyrrell Hatton is flying at the British Masters after returning to the DP World Tour for the first time since his move to LIV Golf.

The Englishman leads the way on ten under after 36 holes as he looks to boost his Ryder Cup chances ahead of next year’s event at Bethpage Black.

The Belfry event is the first of three DP World Tour events Hatton will play. Hatton’s LIV Golf teammate Jon Rahm is also expected to play in the Spanish Open.

Speaking after his second round, Hatton admitted it’s nice to compete again on one of golf’s traditional circuits.

The Englishman was asked what it’s like to play on the DP World Tour, and Hatton delivered a positive response.

“Yeah, absolutely [nice to see familiar faces],” Hatton said. “I think anytime we get to play in England, fans always come out and have good support.”

He added: “Yeah, I’m definitely enjoying that. As I said earlier, looking forward to the weekend. I think crowds will be pretty special.”

Tyrrell Hatton back on the DP World Tour is a massive positive

Hopefully, Hatton’s participation back on the DP World Tour is just the beginning.

Having the more high-profile LIV Golf stars back on one of golf’s traditional circuits can only benefit the game as a whole.

With Rahm hopefully returning at the Spanish Open, a message can be sent to the PGA Tour as talks with the PIF continue.

The DP World Tour has set out its requirements and has been open to LIV players returning, provided they meet fines and sanctions.

Surely, can something similar be negotiated on the PGA Tour? Rory McIlroy has hinted at LIV collaboration, and it’s a scenario that is looking increasingly likely.
