LIV Golf enjoyed its best year yet in 2024 as the Saudi-backed tour continued to grow and in turn, produce some excellent golf along the way.

LIV was boosted by big events in Spain and Australia being won by the home team and they also saw their star man, Bryson DeChambeau, produce the goods and win the US Open ahead of Rory McIlroy.

For LIV, the key now is progressing into 2025 and with that, all eyes are on the off-season and who might make the jump to LIV.

As we know, Sergio Garcia has said the Fireballs will have a new player, while Jon Rahm has said a new player for Legion XIII is also on the agenda.

Quite who those new players will be, remains open to debate.

But according to one current LIV Golf GM, ‘one or two’ big names could be set to make the jump.

LIV Golf has big names in sight for 2025

Speaking in an interview for Sports Illustrated, the GM for one of LIV’s teams has said his phone has been ringing ‘non stop’.

“My phone’s been ringing nonstop basically since right before Dallas and things are starting to happen from either player directly or agents calling exploring and wanting to look at the possibility of coming on [LIV team],” the general manager said.

“With what the inside rumblings are, I would guess that there’s going to be one or two big names coming over.

“Two guys that had very big offers that are now calling would love to be on [a LIV team] and said that was the worst decision they made is not accepting the offer and coming over.”

Who could make the move to LIV Golf in 2025?

At the moment, it seems like anyone at any time could make the switch. Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton showed how quickly things can change, so can expect the unexpected.

Indeed, one big name who has dropped hints over LIV is Viktor Hovland.

Hovland has spoken of his feelings towards LIV and admitted that he didn’t go over at the time due to the product not being for him. However, that doesn’t mean a move is off the table.

Further, Greg Norman has admitted he’s tried to get Hideki Matsuyama signed, which would be another major winner and huge name for LIV.

Of course, there are plenty of players who will fancy it as well. With the money on offer, and a deal with the PGA probably due to happen down the line, some will feel it’s a smart business move to go now.

Don’t be surprised, then, to see some big changes to LIV’s teams for 2025.
