The LIV Golf season for 2024 is in the bag and there is an air of excitement about what the 2025 season could bring to the table.

The overall season had some big moment as the tour continued to build some momentum.

Unforgettable events in Australia and the UK brought plenty of eyes to the LIV product and the season finale which saw the Rippers come out on top was also well recieved.

Add that to the fact that star attraction Jon Rahm won the individual championship and returned to form, and LIV will make 2024 as a good year.

Of course, the team element brings a different dynamic and ahead of 2025, we might well see some new signings made and new faces added to rosters.

And according to Fireballs GC captain Sergio Garcia, that is the exact plan for him and his team.

Sergio Garcia reveals Fireballs GC will be getting a new player for 2025

Speaking in an interview for Golf Magic, Garcia confirmed that there will be a change to the Fireballs roster for 2025.

“For the most part it’s going to be pretty much the same team, but there is going to be one new player. Unfortunately, Eugenio Chacarra finished outside the top 24 and his contract is up. We are very thankful for everything he’s done this last two and half, three years.

“But we want to see if we can get someone new, a little bit of a different profile kind of player. We are working on it and hopefully we’ll have something before the year ends. It’s exciting to look at different options and looking at someone who could make the team better in every aspect.

“I think that’s the end game, to make the team better as LIV Golf moves forwards. Sometimes you have to make little changes here and there I guess.

When pressed further to give an answer, Garcia refused to divulge who they’re speaking to.

“We don’t have him yet,” Garcia laughed. “I wish I could tell you who it is, but it’s a work in progress.”

LIV Golf will want big names added

While Garcia is giving nothing away here, it won’t be a surprise to see a number of teams add new faces to their ranks.

The Fireballs are just one of the teams who may have an open roster spot and with the money on offer, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a few big names from the PGA or DP World Tour make their way to LIV for 2025.

Quite who they’ll be, remains an open question.

But clearly, the LIV powers are looking to add more players and come January, the whole landscape in golf might have changed again.
