Tiger Woods is not only one of the greatest golfers of all time, but he was probably the most exciting to watch.
Millions of casual golf fans only ever tuned in to watch Woods, and many even started playing themselves because of him.
Even in 2025, when he is no longer the dominant force he once was, so many people would love to watch him play anywhere in the world.
There has never been another golfer like Tiger, and perhaps there never will be, but certain modern players do share some of his characteristics.
Kevin Na named the four current golfers who are the closest to Woods in bringing “excitement” to the sport.

Na is too young to have played with Woods in his prime, but he did play alongside him on the PGA Tour for around a decade.
The Iron Heads GC captain named three other LIV golfers and one PGA Tour player as the four most similar to Tiger today.
“I think Bryson [DeChambeau] is the closest to it, in terms of the excitement,” Na said. “I think Rory [McIlroy] is pretty exciting. I think [Jon] Rahm is pretty exciting, and Joaquin [Niemann] is becoming that player as well.
“I think there are different characters to the game that bring that kind of energy. Obviously, Tiger was dominating with his power and was blowing the field away. Even though he was four or five behind with nine to play, it was like, ‘he is going to win, he is going to go on a crazy run.’
“I remember watching as a kid and being a fan of Tiger. It was incredible. But I think there are characters that can follow in his footsteps or become maybe not that Tiger Woods icon level, but up close to that level, and we can have three or four guys kind of equal Tiger.
“I think golf has become more entertaining and more exciting than before. In the 90s, I grew up watching golf, and I became a pro in the early 2000s, and I played with all these guys on the Senior Tour who are playing now, and I think golf has become more entertaining.
“There are more characters in the game, you have Bryson who bombs it and cuts corners. You have Rory, also. Scottie Scheffler [was] arrested! I think it’s entertaining.
“I think golf is in a good place, except this division. I think once we find a way to get the players back together more often, I think golf has got to go up another level.”

Na mentioned Scottie Scheffler’s arrest at the PGA Championship last year, but he did not include him in his list of Woods-like golfers.
This could be seen as somewhat disrespectful to the world number one, who seemingly breaks another record every week on the PGA Tour.
Scheffler is definitely the closest to Woods in terms of golfing excellence, but that is not really what Na was referring to.
The 29-year-old’s biggest strength is his ability to remain composed at all times, whereas Woods was far more fiery on the golf course.
That’s also what makes McIlroy and DeChambeau more captivating to watch, even if they are not quite on Scheffler’s level.
