Keegan Bradley produced a brilliant round of golf at the Charles Schwab Challenge yesterday to put himself in contention for day three.

Bradley had looked in good nick at the PGA Championship last week but ultimately fell short in the end as his round faltered.

However, the 37-year-old seems to be back in the groove going into round three at Colonial, just four back off the leaders on six under.

Of course, the new layout at Colonial is proving a bit of a challenge for some golfers.

The likes of Brian Harman and Tony Finau have had their say on how the new course is playing. And in what is the highest praise yet, Keegan Bradley has lauded the work that’s gone into the course.

Keegan Bradley gives his verdict on the new layout at Colonial Golf Course

Speaking in his interview after an excellent second round left him six under par, Bradley was full of praise for the Colonial course.

“I was excited to come here. Everything is shrunken in a bit, tight golf course. I do just want to say I think the golf course is spectacular. I think what they did is amazing,” Bradley said.

Adding further comment on the state of the greens, Bradley praised things even more.

“I’ve been really impressed. I think it’s very rare that courses do a re-design and they make the course better and I think that’s what they’ve done here, I think it’s amazing.”

Bradley an outsider coming good again

Everyone who follows golf knows Keegan Bradley has very much been there and done that and in media circles, he’s well-respected.

His comments here are a nice nod to those who will have put countless hours into trying to improve the course at the Colonial.

Yes, there is time for it to get better and it probably will do over the years as it settles down.

But for now, it’s doing just the job needed and Bradley has clearly adapted well.

The 2011 PGA winner is very much in the mix to win and come final day Sunday, he might well fancy his chances of getting over the line given the lack of experience above him on the leaderboard.
