J.J. Spaun is the 2025 US Open champion and the reactions have already started flooding in as the likes of Justin Thomas and Michael Kim watched on.
Spaun roared to a fine win at Oakmont to win his first major and put the seal on what has already been a superb 2025 for the American.
After missing out at The Players to Rory McIlroy, it felt like redemption of sorts for Spaun as he produced the goods on the back nine to win.
With the play being so dramatic, it was obvious the best in the world were going to be turning in as well.
And after witnessing Spaun’s brilliance to get the victory, Justin Thomas was quick to offer up his immediate reaction.

Justin Thomas reacts as J.J. Spaun wins the US Open
The US Open ended up being just what everyone expected. Tough conditions and scores above par, apart from one man, the eventual winner.
For Spaun to come in under par was quite something and his putt on 18 will live long in the memory of great US Open moments.
Viktor Hovland was among those impressed by Spaun’s effort, and over on social media, former major winner Justin Thomas also had his say.
Taking to X to give his thoughts, Thomas was clearly impressed by what he’d witnessed.
The two-time PGA Championship winner wasn’t alone though, as fellow PGA Tour player Michael Kim also posted his own reaction.

Justin Thomas’ week a stark contrast to J.J. Spaun
It’s great to see Thomas sending out the congratulatory messages like this but the reality is that he had a stinking time of things at Oakmont.
Thomas was annoyed with missing the cut while he also complained about a couple of holes at Oakmont that he had problems with.
The American is having a good year, like Spaun, but his performance here in the US Open left a lot to be desired.
With just one major to go and the final signature event coming up next week at The Travelers, Thomas will want to find form again quickly.
Hopefully for him, seeing Spaun do so well will give him the boost and motivation again.
