Jordan Spieth’s wait for another PGA Tour victory has now reached three years after failing to win in the 2025 season.

Spieth underwent wrist surgery last August and made his comeback at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February.

He then finished tied fourth the following week at the Phoenix Open, one of three top 10s this year.

Now, golf expert Gary Williams expects the 32-year-old to have a better 2026, including a strong performance at The Masters

Gary Williams expects Jordan Spieth to challenge for The Masters

Spieth remains one of the most popular players in the world, and fans would love to see him return to his absolute best.

Unfortunately, it seems highly unlikely that he will ever recapture the form that saw him rise to number one in the Official World Golf Ranking.

However, Gary Williams thinks that Spieth still has the game to compete at the highest level from time to time.

And considering his incredible record at Augusta National, Williams envisions another top 10 for Spieth at next year’s Masters.

“I look at him, and I thought this past season was encouraging, and I thought he was very transparent,” he explained. “It was Gabby Herzig who asked the question about goal setting when he showed up at Pebble Beach.

“He talked about how it wasn’t so much goals; it was the aspiration of experiencing certain things before he got to the Masters, and I thought he actually did those things. We know, even if he’s in a mummified state at Augusta National, he lives in the top 10 there. He finished tied-14th, which is admirable.

“I think Spieth has not only a state of mind… Look, he has a family. I think that he is incredibly comfortable with who he is, but is also still intensely competitive. I think he’s going to win in 2026. I think that he will contend at Augusta National because he always does.”

Brendon de Jonge thinks Jordan Spieth needs to improve iron game

Former PGA Tour player Brendon de Jonge also has some faith in Spieth to contend at The Masters in 2026.

He pointed out that Spieth’s driving was impressive this season and that he just needs to improve his iron play to have a chance to win.

“I wouldn’t be at all surprised, Gary. He’s not that far off,” De Jonge said. “There are a couple of foul balls with the iron game. He needs to tighten up his iron game.

“He actually drove the ball beautifully. He’s still got some nice pop there. He’s hitting it a long way.

“He needs to tighten up his iron game just a little bit. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him win next year.”
