Jordan Spieth propelled himself into contention at The Memorial Tournament with a fine round of 69 in difficult conditions and he’s left golf fans stunned with his effort on one hole in particular.
Spieth has been battling with his game for some time now but has shown signs of life at times in the 2025 season.
However, things seemed to come together down the back nine for Spieth at Muirfield Village as he finished birdie birdie to make up for making consecutive bogeys on 14 and 15.
Still, while those birdies were impressive, it was a par on the 11th hole that had golf fans talking about Spieth online.
In fact, it was so good, that some fans genuinely couldn’t believe what they’d seen.

Golf fans left in awe of Jordan Spieth’s 11th hole par at The Memorial
Jordan Spieth is one of golf’s best scramblers when he wants to be and he was in danger of having the ultimate nightmare on hole 11.
After finding the water and even seeing if he could play it with no shoes on 11, Spieth then took a drop and hit a third shot into the rough well short and right of the green.
However, in a remarkable twist and show of class, Spieth managed to play a superb pitch shot to within a few feet of the pin and tap in for par.
And over on X, fans of Spieth’s effort on 11 were lauding him.
One fan commented how it’s just typical of watching Spieth on any given day
“Happened to be following him and Xander on this hole. Full on Spieth roller coaster. Always fun”
While another was quick to comment on how good the three-time major winner looked in general.
“Tell you what, Spieth looked good today. Maybe as good as he’s looked all year.”
Going a step further, one fan suggested Spieth could even win the US Open, if he can maintain and improve.
“If he gets the putter going tomorrow and his irons and wedges continue to be good, WATCH OUT FOR JORDAN FREAKING SPIETH. Just give him the win at Oakmont as well.”
Another Spieth lover branded the shot into 11 as ‘amazing‘, with another simply saying ‘wow‘ after what they’d seen.
Of course, for balance, there is always someone keen to criticise and one fan suggested that what Spieth had done was nothing special.
“So he hit 2 horrible shots then a great chip? I feel like any tour player can produce this highlight every week”
Still, that comment seemed very much in isolation and it’s hard not to be impressed by what Spieth pulled off here.
That par on 11, coupled with those two late birdies, mean he is well in contention for the weekend and if conditions favour him, he could well go into Sunday as one of the leading contenders.
