Scottie Scheffler can undoubtedly be forgiven for not being the Presidents Cup star given his stunning season.
Scheffler helped the US Team win the Presidents Cup under the captaincy of Jim Furyk, with the visitors beating the International Team last month.
They clinched a hard-fought 18.5-11.5 victory over Mike Weir’s side, securing their 10th successive Presidents Cup in the process.
But Scheffler was by no means the star, with Dan Rapaport naming Patrick Cantlay as the Presidents Cup MVP.
He finished the tournament this time last month with a 4-1-0, alongside teammates Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa.

How Jim Furyk felt watching Scottie Scheffler at the Presidents Cup
Scheffler did, however, still impress with a 3-1-0, joining Russell Henley in securing three points for the US Team.
Winning captain Furyk has now shared his thoughts on getting to experience Scheffler up close in Canada, telling Good Good: “Unreal. It was funny, someone from the USPGA thought they were going to stump me when they said who is the last person to win eight times on Tour and you weren’t allowed to name Tiger Woods.

“I said Vijay, that’s easy, it came to me, because I remember him doing it. But other than Tiger and Vijay nobody has done that. That’s crazy. How about July 1st he had won six tournaments including a major and the Players? That’s a career for a really good player!
“I don’t really have a chance to watch him play a lot of golf. I followed him and Russ for one of the days for 18 holes and it was just awesome to watch the two of them, I had such a blast.”
Scottie Scheffler impresses Justin Thomas up close
Furyk wasn’t the only one to get a glimpse of the world number one in action, with Justin Thomas having loved playing with Scheffler at The Players earlier this year.
The world number one won the competition back in March, with Scheffler now sitting on 13 career PGA Tour wins, seven of which have come this season as he leads the way by a remarkable margin.

Scheffler will now be targeting another successful PGA Tour season next time out, along with success at the Ryder Cup.
The US Team certainly sent a real warning to Team Europe with their Presidents Cup win, although the level of competition will undoubtedly increase at Bethpage Black next year.
