Ian Poulter expected to change LIV Golf teams after poor 2025 season with Majesticks GC

The 2025 LIV Golf season ended almost six weeks ago with the Team Championship in Michigan.

The players and teams are now preparing for the 2026 LIV season, with the full schedule already announced.

Several well-known players were relegated from the league this summer, while others only just avoided the drop.

Ian Poulter was one of those who narrowly secured safety, and he now seems likely to change teams before next year.

Ian Poulter to switch LIV Golf teams before 2026 season

Ian Poulter quit the PGA Tour and DP World Tour in 2022 to join Greg Norman’s recently launched LIV Golf league instead.

Poulter’s decision coincided with a loss of form in recent seasons and marked the end of his Ryder Cup playing days.

Now, the Englishman is clearly looking for a new source of inspiration for the twilight years of his professional career.

Former PGA Tour player Johnson Wagner has revealed a rumour he has heard about Poulter switching teams.

“He is going to be a future RangeGoat from what I’m hearing,” Wagner told the Fried Egg Golf Podcast.

RangeGoats GC are captained by former Masters champion Bubba Watson and also have Peter Uihlein, Matt Wolff, and Ben Campbell on their roster.

Majesticks GC had a terrible 2025 season on LIV Golf

The Majesticks GC team includes three European Ryder Cup legends (Poulter, Henrik Stenson, and Lee Westwood).

However, Sam Horsfield finished higher in the 2025 LIV Golf league table, with almost as many points as the other three combined.

Westwood, Poulter, and Stenson all needed to score points at the final individual event in Indianapolis to avoid relegation.

Poulter’s T17 finish allowed him not only to leapfrog Stenson but also to relegate his good friend and teammate.
