The 2025 season on LIV Golf was a real struggle for Ian Poulter, there is no sugar-coating that fact.

Poulter joined LIV Golf from the PGA and DP World Tours back in 2022, and his game has gone well off the boil ever since then.

LIV golfer Poulter recently suggested that it’s getting harder and harder to compete for the guys who are 40 and over, due to the raw power of the talented young players coming through the ranks.

Poulter actually faced the prospect of being relegated from LIV, before avoiding that fate during the final individual event of the season in Indianapolis.

He will now be hoping for much bigger and better things in the 2026 season with the Saudi-backed golf league.

After Poulter’s latest announcement, he may well be in a far better position to achieve success next season.

He sent a message to his followers and revealed that he was struggling with a problem throughout the season.

He said: Reflecting back on my 26th consecutive season on Tour and this one was not easy.

I had an injury that I didn’t tell you guys about but we fought through it.

It’s had laughter, it’s had tears, it’s had the utmost stress.

Most importantly I have taken some incredible strength from the people who have supported me and keep supporting me. You’ve given me the reason to keep working so hard.

This game never ceases to amaze me time and time again. The will to win and improve won’t ever stop. I love this game and I love playing in front of you guys.

Not sure I will ever be ready to hang up the boots.

The Dream continues and the Dream is real. Never let anyone get in the way of those Dreams.

So many incredible things to look forward to for us all.

Let 2026 preparations begin.

Poulter will now have to work incredibly hard during the off-season if he is to have any chance of discovering his best form next season.

Ian Poulter’s LIV Golf stats in 2025

Poulter failed to record a single top-10 finish all season long on LIV.

And that is no surprise when looking at his season stats:

StatsPoulter’s 2025 rank
Driving distance51
Fairways hit16
Scrambling34
PuttingT-29
Greens in regulation51

The Englishman clearly needs to work on pretty much every single aspect of his game during the off-season.

The good news is that Poulter has an incredibly strong work ethic and he has years of real success to lean on as he looks to come back a better player all-round in 2026.
