The 2025 LIV Golf season is almost over, but there is still a lot to play for at both ends of the leaderboard.

The event in Indianapolis this weekend is the last that counts towards the individual standings, with the Team Championship next week.

Despite winning five times this season, Joaquin Niemann holds only a slight lead over Jon Rahm heading into the decider at Chatham Hills.

Meanwhile, at the bottom, many players’ careers are at stake as relegation from the league looms large.

The Golfing Gazette looks at the five biggest names at serious risk of relegation from LIV Golf with one event to play.

Five biggest names at risk of LIV Golf relegation

One look at the bottom of the LIV Golf standings will tell you that the Majesticks GC have struggled immensely throughout the 2025 season.

Sam Horsfield is in 39th place, while the other three team members (Lee Westwood, Henrik Stenson, and Ian Poulter) could soon be relegated.

Former world number one Westwood (47th) and 2016 Open Champion Stenson (48th) are currently just outside the relegation places.

However, Ryder Cup legend Ian Poulter (52nd) will be kicked out of the league if he does not finish in the scoring positions (top 24) in Indianapolis.

Mito Pereira, who almost won the 2022 PGA Championship, and former world number six Anthony Kim are also in need of more points to survive.

Lee Westwood makes caddie switch before LIV Golf Indianapolis

Lee Westwood recognizes that he needs a big performance in Indianapolis and has made a significant change to help his chances.

Westwood has called upon former caddie Billy Foster, who recently stopped working with Matt Fitzpatrick, for the next fortnight.

“For two weeks, and two weeks only, we’re putting the band back together,” the Majesticks posted on social media.

Foster has also caddied for Collin Morikawa lately, but he seems particularly excited to reunite with Westwood.

“Great to be back with the old dawg for a couple of weeks,” he commented on Instagram. “LIVing the dream!”
