The Hero World Challenge is in the books for another year and while Scottie Scheffler ran away with the win in the end, there was plenty to like about a few other players on show as well.
Justin Thomas delivered a welcome return to form as he finished third after being in contention alongside Scheffler after three rounds.
In amongst the chasing pack, the likes of Akshay Bhatia, Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley and the ever-impressive Ludvig Aberg all impressed.
However, it was the performance of one young golf star, Tom Kim, that really caught the eye as he propelled himself from nowhere to finishing second.

Tom Kim impresses ahead of big 2025 golf season
Still just 22, Tom Kim has already won three times on the PGA Tour and was one of the key players in this year’s Presidents Cup.
Kim showed during that tournament that he wasn’t scared of going head to head with the likes of Scottie Scheffler and his performance this week proved he’s ready to contend in 2025.
Kim’s third round of 62 and a final round of four under propelled him up the leader board and allowed him to finish a solo second behind Scheffler.
Furthermore, Kim seems to have been working on his game as well. Tiger Woods pointed out Kim’s gym work which in turn led to a few extra yards off the tee.
It was a welcome return to form for Kim, who missed the cut at the Hong Kong Open just a few weeks ago.
Tom Kim looking to follow Scottie Scheffler’s lead
Everyone on the PGA Tour knows how good Tom Kim is and there’s no doubt he’s one of the players destined to win a major at some point.
Of course, Scottie Scheffler knows a thing or two about winning majors and Kim has spoken of how impressed he is with Scheffler.
“For me the biggest thing is it’s where we go home and he shoots even par, one over and he comes out here and wins, he does it all the time. I think the biggest thing that I see is that he’s always trying to get better. Despite winning nine times this year, he’s always finding little ways and I think it’s really, really cool to see and you can take a lot from that,” Kim said yesterday.
Right now, then, it feels like Scheffler is very much setting the benchmark for the PGA Tour to follow.
For Kim, if he can take a bit from Scheffler’s game and then bring that in alongside his natural talent, there’s every chance he gets major number one in 2025.
