TGL is finally underway, with Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy having been in attendance for opening night at the SoFi Center.
Golf fans loved TGL opening night, where The Bay Golf Club defeated New York Golf Club 9-2 in the first match of the new event.
Rory McIlroy says TGL is golf ‘reimagined’, with the Northern Irishman having founded the event alongside Woods.
TGL, launched by their company TMRW Sports, sees PGA Tour players face off in virtual and real-life competition.
Florida’s SoFi Center plays host, with the action having been delayed by a year after a power shortage caused the purpose-built dome to collapse.

How Pat McAfee thinks TGL could expand all over America
But the tournament is now underway with a bang, with plenty of excitement arising both inside and outside the golfing world.
American sports analyst Pat McAfee has now shared his verdict on the event, having been left really impressed by opening night.
“Definitely should build some TGL super sim places around the country… looks like a GREAT time,” he wrote on X.
“Shanking drives that won’t register… spraying sand all over the place.. finishing a round in half the time… would be an absolute blast with the lads.”
It does seem that McAfee will get a chance to have a go at the giant 64×46-foot screen, which is roughly 20 times the size of a standard simulator.
Did TGL make a mistake by leaving Tiger Woods out of opening week?
TGL does look like it has made a positive impact early on, with plenty of doubts having arisen in the build-up to the inaugural season.
Peter Finch doesn’t know if TGL will work, while Max Homa changed his mind about TGL after visiting the venue.
He takes on the hopefully soon-to-be iconic giant screen at Palm Beach’s SoFi Center for the first time next week alongside Woods.
And it is, of course, the latter who has the potential to really grow the TGL and really capture a much larger audience.
It may have been a risk leaving the 15-time major champion out of opening week, or else a very wise move that will allow even more growth after a positive start.
McIlroy meanwhile is not in TGL action until week four, when Boston Common Golf take on Woods and his teammates Homa, Kevin Kisner and Tom Kim later this month.
