There were seven LIV Golf players at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The Golfing Gazette takes a look at how each of them performed.
Former world number one Jon Rahm entered the Olympics as LIV Golf’s most likely medallist, representing Spain alongside David Puig.
Meanwhile, the likes of Joaquin Niemann, Abraham Ancer and Adrian Meronk were all given chances of having success at Le Golf National.
The tournament ended up being one of the best in recent memory, with so many players in contention for the gold medal.
But how many LIV Golf players were in the mix on the back nine on Sunday? The Golfing Gazette outlines each golfer’s performance below.

Jon Rahm & David Puig – Spain
- Jon Rahm – 5th (-15)
- David Puig – 40th (-1)
Jon Rahm could not have put himself in a better position to win a medal. Playing in the final group alongside Xander Schauffele and Tommy Fleetwood, the Spaniard was cruising towards the gold with just a handful of holes to go. Every aspect of his game looked in top shape and he was at the summit of the leaderboard. However, a series of mistakes on the back nine on Sunday proved costly as he fell from first to fifth in less than an hour.
As for his compatriot, David Puig, he finished in 40th place after a disappointing four-over 75 on Sunday. He would not have won a medal but he could have finished in the top 10 with a strong final-round showing.
Joaquin Niemann & Mito Pereira – Chile
- Joaquin Niemann – 9th (-12)
- Mito Pereira – 45th (+1)
Joaquin Niemann was not able to finish in the medal places but he still enjoyed an impressive tournament. A top-10 finish in such a stacked field can only be positive for the LIV Golf 2024 season leader.
Fellow Chilean Mito Pereira finished towards the back of the pack, with a final score of one over. The 29-year-old has struggled throughout the year and is close to the drop zone in the LIV individual standings.

Abraham Ancer & Carlos Ortiz – Mexico
- Carlos Ortiz – 26th (-5)
- Abraham Ancer – 35th (-2)
Carlos Ortiz finished in the top half of the 60 golfers who competed at Le Golf National last week. The Mexican never looked like winning a medal, though.
Abraham Ancer, who won LIV Golf Hong Kong in March, will be disappointed with his finish – outside the top half – as he has the ability to mix it with the best players in the world.
Adrian Meronk – Poland
- Adrian Meronk – 49 (+3)
Poland’s Adrian Meronk had an advantage over much of his opposition in that he had played at Le Golf National before. Not only that but he finished in the top 15 at the 2022 Open de France so one could have expected him to have another good week this time around. It was not to be for the 31-year-old, who finished three shots over par.
