Bryson DeChambeau made some serious waves at the LIV Golf event in Mexico on Friday.

DeChambeau leads LIV Mexico after day one, having fired a scintillating opening round eight-under par 63.

The two-time major champion put on an absolute driving clinic at Club de Golf Chapultepec on Friday afternoon.

After his round, DeChambeau shared the challenge posed by the course hosting LIV Mexico.

It’s a very fair challenge. Good shots are rewarded whilst wayward ones are punished, and that’s exactly how it should be.

The 31-year-old American thrilled the spectators out in Mexico on Friday with his prodigious length off the tee.

Before the tournament began, DeChambeau filmed himself clocking a 199 mph ball speed on the range with his driver – a swing that equated to a whopping 407 yard carry through the air!

And he had LIV Golf fans in absolute shock after something that he did around the tricky par-71 track in Mexico.

Golf fans react as Bryson DeChambeau does something ‘actually so wild’ at LIV Mexico

DeChambeau was seriously sending it with his driver on Friday.

As Phil Mickelson likes to say, he was ‘hitting bombs’ out there.

One drive DeChambeau hit in particular really grabbed everyone’s attention.

Standing on his final hole of the day – the first hole on the course – the US Open champ let loose and clocked a 197 mph balled speed.

He found the middle of the green on the 391-yard par four with his tee shot, and finished with a birdie to complete his fine round of 63.

And golf fans far and wide absolutely loved watching DeChambeau’s power move at LIV Mexico.

One fan took to social media platform X to share his shock at what DeChambeau had just done, He acted like he had no idea where the ball went off the driver face. It’s a good thing he doesn’t have longer spikes…..he could have broken an ankle on that swing.

Whilst a second golf fan very simply responded, Sheeeeeeeeeesh.

Meanwhile, a third DeChambeau fan said, My boy isn’t making it another 5 years. Guaranteed.

Then a fourth fan chimed in with, Dude is so fun to watch.

Whilst a fifth golf fanatic opted for a sarcastic response, I prefer watching Patrick Cantlay and his fast play.

A sixth reply highlighted how the 31-year-old is vital to the growth of the game, He’s dope man bringing big energy to golf. Inspiring the youth.

Meanwhile, a seventh fan further highlighted the two-time major winner’s popularity, This is why the fans love Bryson! Sending BOMBS.

And then an eighth golf fan simply shared his shock at what he had just witnessed, That’s actually so wild.

DeChambeau is simply like no other player in the game. He is totally unique in every way, and he has a certain kind of magnetism about him that other tour pros just don’t possess.

Why DeChambeau stopped his press conference at LIV Mexico on day one

The 31-year-old was quite clearly very happy with himself after his opening round at Club de Golf Chapultepec.

However, when speaking to reporters in the press centre after his round, he abruptly paused questioning midway through speaking.

The reason for that? DeChambeau just simply wanted to see Jon Rahm finish up his round, and went on to rave about the Spaniard’s ability:

Wow, Jon is just playing so incredible. That guy is just unbelievable.

And Rahm must have been thinking the same about DeChambeau after his heroics on the opening day of LIV Mexico.
