Bryson DeChambeau is taking his golf game to LIV Golf Mexico after his disappointing Masters finish and he’s already raising eyebrows before the opening round has even got underway.
DeChambeau is hoping to put his poor final round at Augusta National behind him as he seeks to keep the show rolling over on LIV Golf and as usual, he’s one of the star attractions.
Over in Mexico, with the course well above sea level, players are expected to be able to hit the ball some way further than normal.
Rick Shiels was left shocked by how far the ball went, and with Bryson DeChambeau known for hitting it a mile anyway, fans are expecting some big hits this weekend.
Indeed, without wasting any time, DeChambeau has already been showing off in practice and he’s left both Phil Mickelson and golf fans in general impressed.

Bryson DeChambeau impresses golf fans ahead of LIV Mexico
Given DeChambeau hits the golf ball north of 340 yards on a regular basis, the idea of him playing a course and being aided by the conditions even further is a frightening prospect.
And over on the Crushers GC social media channel on X, DeChambeau has already been showing what he’s made of by smashing his drive in practice north of 400 yards.
In the clip, DeChambeau shows his figures to Phil Mickelson, who is more than impressed.
Interestingly, DeChambeau suggests he can go even further by adding more spin to the ball and with three rounds in Mexico City to come, he might do just that.
“I was wondering if you could get to 400. Yeah, that’s very sexy,” Mickelson quipped in response.
While over on X, a number of fans remarked on DeChambeau’s impressive numbers.
“That’s insane. I was wondering what Mexico City would be like at that altitude” on fan commented, while another labelled Bryson’s power as ‘crazy‘.
Another fan commented that ‘Dudes not real’, with another joked about the height the ball got.
“Legend has it that ball is still in orbit.”
And on a similar theme, one fan joked about a potential moon mission.
“If Brysons swinging at 8,000ft, he might just be launching a moon mssion next!”
Still, while fans were impressed in the main, there were a few who brought up the Masters.
Nevertheless, DeChambeau’s range and driving is seriously impressive and we could well see some record drives in Mexico.
The longest drives so far in 2025 on the PGA Tour
While DeChambeau is on the LIV tour, using the PGA Tour’s stats is a good metric for the American to go up against.
In 2025, the longest drive of the season so far came from Jake Knapp, who crushed one 444 yards at The Sentry.
| Golfer | Yardage |
| Jake Knapp | 444 |
| Si Woo Kim | 442 |
| Byeong Hun An | 440 |
| Rafael Campos | 437 |
| Matthieu Pavon | 430 |
| Brian Harman | 428 |
In fact, the course in Hawaii dominates, with the top 30 drives of the season all being recorded at The Sentry before Sepp Straka’s 404 yard effort at the WM Open breaks the chain.
This week in Mexico could well see that record gone, depending on just how the lay of the land is.
