Caves Valley has played host to some truly exceptional golf this week, with the likes of Robert MacIntyre and Scottie Scheffler lighting up the BMW Championship.

MacIntyre leads world number one Scheffler by four strokes heading into the final round of the BMW Championship, and Sunday should make for box-office television.

Talented left-hander MacIntyre received unwarranted heckling at the BMW Championship, but that didn’t slow him down.

Now we, as golf fans, are set for some exhilarating final round viewing.

The FedEx Cup Playoffs will reach its finale in Atlanta, Georgia, next week, when the top 30 players on the points list gather at East Lake for the Tour Championship.

And that means that MacIntyre and Scheffler battling it out at the top of the BMW Championship leaderboard will not be the only vitally important race on display at Caves Valley on Sunday.

After all the fine golf we witnessed on Saturday, one of the main talking points after the rounds was the poor behaviour of one player.

His ball came up just short of the green on the par three, and Kim reacted by aggressively smashing his club into the ground three or four times.

And numerous golf fans flooded social media platform X in reaction to Kim’s awful behavior.

One simply said: Between Clark and the locker, Koepka and the tee box, Rory throwing clubs, and this; it feels like golfers are misbehaving more and more. I would be embarrassed to do what Kim just did.

While another made a great point about how Kim’s sponsors will view the incident, saying: His sponsors will see this and NOT like it.

This sentiment was supported by lots of others. With comments stating: You never saw Jack Nicklaus act like that. Childish behavior today deserves disqualification.

And: Pathetic from a professional heavy fine needed.”

Others were equally passionate in their replies to Si Woo’s awful behaviour on Saturday.

Should’ve been told to leave the course, disgrace,” one exclaimed. While another added:Throw them straight off the course, huge fine and ban.

And then a few more fans weighed in on the debate, with one suggesting that the PGA Tour need to take action, Si Woo Kim should be hit in the pocket after that meltdown, grow up.

The views continued, with the criticisms of Kim coming in thick and fast. Si Woo Kim should be hit in the pocket after that meltdown, grow up.

While another fan had a big question for the PGA Tour: Still not doing anything about this unacceptable behavior? What’s it going to take to make change and apply penalties? Driver head snapping off a tee box marker and hitting a fan or volunteer?

Before someone called for Kim to be disqualified: Should be disqualified from the tournament.

All of those fans are correct. What sort of example is Si Woo setting for young players with behavior like that?

The PGA Tour have a big problem developing and they have to stamp it out of the game as a matter of urgency.

PGA Tour have to deal with behavioral issues before it’s too late

It seems like there is an incident every week where players lose their cool and take out their anger on the course.

Wyndham Clark threw his club into an advertising board at the PGA Championship before damaging the lockers at Oakmont a month later at the US Open.

Shane Lowry has also fallen foul of poor behaviour on the golf course multiple times this season, with his actions at the US Open criticized at the time.

Meanwhile, Cameron Young has been at fault on numerous occasions, notably at the Travelers Championship in June.

If the PGA Tour do not act soon, the next generation of youngsters coming through will already have adopted the behavior they have witnessed from some of the best players in the world.

It has been a common theme on the PGA Tour this year, with numerous players venting their anger out on the golf course.

Si Woo Kim’s reaction to his tee shot on the 17th hole at the BMW Championship was yet another example of awful behavior from a PGA Tour player, and it was quite simply not acceptable.
