Shane Lowry was not a happy bunny at all out on the course during the first round of the US Open on Thursday.
Oakmont takes no prisoners, and Lowry found that out the hard way on day one of the US Open.
Lowry lost his composure back at The Masters in April, following a poor finish to his third round when he vented at reporters behind the 18th green at Augusta National.
Then at the Truist Championship in May, Lowry refused to speak to reporters after his final round, when Sepp Straka pipped him to the title.
That kind of behaviour is not becoming of Lowry.

The Irishman has forged a reputation as a real jovial character both on and off the golf course.
However, we haven’t seen much of that in recent months.
Golf fans angry after Shane Lowry’s behaviour at the US Open
Things just weren’t going very well for the 2019 Open champion at Oakmont on Thursday.
At the time of writing, he was five-over par after 14 holes played.
His shenanigans on the 17th on Thursday, his eighth hole of the day, caught the eye of numerous golf fans.
Lowry hacked about in the rough before actually holing a chip for his par.
And some golf fans really weren’t happy with his behaviour one little bit after he failed to excavate his ball from the rough at the first attempt, and proceeded to throw away a microphone in disgust.

One fan took to X and suggested that Lowry’s ‘act’ is getting old now, “His act has been old for a while.“
While a second fan suggested that the Irishman needs to get his act in order, “Acts like a clown all too often.“
Meanwhile, a third claimed that Lowry is not deserving of his easy-going reputation, “I know golf announcers like to paint Lowry as a teddy bear, but from I have seen, he comes across as an ill-tempered golfer like Terrell Hatton.“
A fourth fan then suggested that Lowry’s behaviour on the course was ‘disgraceful, “Big baby, disgraceful behaviour.“
A fifth highlighted how this behaviour is nothing new from Lowry, “what’s new ….dude is livid about everything…“
Then another fan called the 38-year-old a “big baby“.
Before a seventh fan said, “Mouth-breather“, in a nod to Eleven from Stranger Things.
There is obviously something not quite right with Lowry at the moment, and let’s hope that he addresses whatever has been causing him such great anger.
Shane Lowry has a responsibility to set an example to young golf fans
Lowry has to realise that he’s a hugely popular player amongst the young generation of golf fans.
His actions on the course will have consequences.
What if a young child saw that behaviour from Lowry on TV, and thought it was acceptable to act like that on the golf course?
Lowry’s actions at Oakmont during the first round of the US Open on Thursday were simply unacceptable.
And hopefully he will realise that in the cold light of day.
