YouTube Golfer Rick Shiels has been speaking about LIV Golf again this week and admitted something many didn’t expect.

Shiels has been quite vocal about LIV since it began and has already spoken at length this year about what he likes and dislikes about the tour.

The YouTube star has complained so far about the commentators on LIV, while also admitting that the sound effect of the ball dropping in the hole is really annoying. Further, Shiels has also stated that he finds the team element of LIV unappealing as it stands.

However, speaking on this week’s episode of the Rick Shiels Golf Show, the 37-year-old admitted that for the firs time this weekend, he actually missed being able to watch LIV.

Rick Shiels explains why he missed watching LIV Golf this weekend

With The Genesis Open going on at The Riviera and Tiger Woods featuring before withdrawing, there should have been enough for Shiels and any golf fan to get into.

However, Shiels has admitted that he’d have liked the choice of watching LIV, given the star power on offer on the Saudi-backed tour now.

“I’m going to say something and I think it’s going to get me in some hot water. I slightly missed LIV this weekend. Just slightly. I’m starting to realise that this weekend because I only had one choice, to watch the PGA Tour, I quite liked the alternative choice if I wanted to. If someone said to you every Saturday you can have a Chinese, you’d be like ‘oh okay’. But if someone said there is a Chinese or an Indian on the menu, you could have a choice. I don’t know what choice I would have made, but I would have liked one, which really surprised me,” Shiels said.

The LIV tour has started to garner a touch more interest this year due to the stacked field that includes the likes of Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, and Dustin Johnson.

Still, without a regular TV deal as yet and a calmer schedule, it’s harder to find LIV at your fingertips.

However, as time goes on, more people may well start to agree with Shiels here and in the end, star power might just win out.
