Rick Shiels has been watching some LIV Golf this weekend and had some suggestions for the organisers over its coverage.
LIV is currently available on YouTube as a free to watch spectacle. This weekend in Mexico saw LIV have a successful weekend on the course, with Joaquin Niemann and Jon Rahm bringing some fireworks.
However, while LIV might be throwing money at everything they can, YouTube star Shiels feels there’s still plenty of work to be done on the production side of things.
And in particular, Shiels believes some things in the coverage are just out right annoying.
Rick Shiels slams LIV Golf coverage when it comes to putting
Going through a list of problems he has with the LIV coverage, Shiels had a mini rant about what he believes is a ‘ridiculous’ sound effect LIV use when a putt drops.
“The sound effect of the ball going in the hole is ridiculous. And it’s so grating. Like when you watch for a long period of time, it’s so frustrating. At first you’re more like ‘oh that’s quite novel’. It’s very very very grating, I just didn’t enjoy it at all after a while. I Felt like when the ball was going in the hole I was tempted to mute the video,” Shiels said.
LIV Golf taking positives and negatives
Now in its third season, LIV Golf does have some good things going for it and in fairness to Shiels here, he does list a few of those positives.
However, as the popular YouTuber also makes a point on, there are a number of problems still within the coverage element.
Shiels brought up a number of problems here and the reality is that LIV will need to take the rough with the smooth in terms of feedback.
Of course, there’s always room for improvement in every walk of life and over time, LIV might learn.
