With LIV Golf going from strength to strength and wanting to add even more new faces, it seems some players currently on the Tour find their place under threat.
Suggestions over the weekend from one LIV Golf GM hinted at one or two big names arriving in the off-season, while Sergio Garcia has admitted his own team will have a new player.
Likewise, Jon Rahm has confirmed that Legion XIII are looking to add a new player to their roster as they look to improve on the 2024 season and win the team event.
However, while players jostle for position and look to seal big money contracts from the outside, one team who won’t be making a change is the experienced outfit, The Majesticks.
Ian Poulter confirms Sam Horsfield to stay as part of Majesticks GC
Poulter was speaking to golf journalist Matt Vincenzi about all things golf and got onto the subject of the upcoming LIV season.
And while Poulter hinted at the Majesticks moving on from him and Lee Westwood eventually, he did confirm that for 2025 at least, Sam Horsfield will remain part of the team.
How Sam Horsfield has done since moving to LIV Golf
The 28-year-old Englishman has been among a number of players on LIV to not really set the world alight and simply go about their business.
Horsfield will play his fourth season on LIV and he’s yet to finish inside the top 20.
In 2022, he finished 23rd in a shortened season, while 2023 saw him come way down in 40th as the tour extended to 14 events – albeit he did only play in six of those 14.
This year has seen a slight improvement, with Horsfield playing in 13 of the 15 events and finishing in 31st.
However, the pressure is on really and if he doesn’t pull it out of the bag this year, Horsfield could very much find himself cast aside for the 2026 season and looking to get back to the DP World Tour.
