Bryson DeChambeau landed his most significant YouTube collaboration to date as the US Open champion attempted to break 50 with former President Donald Trump.

In a somewhat bizarre situation, DeChambeau had to clarify the reasoning behind playing 18 holes with Trump as the pair looked to raise money for America’s veterans.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, in the early part of the video, Trump claimed DeChambeau was the best golfer on the planet after his second major win at Pinehurst.

Trump’s love of golf is well known. When working in real estate, the American businessman started acquiring courses in 1999 and by the time he was elected in 2016, he owned 17 properties.

Currently, Trump owns three courses in the UK and Ireland: Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeen, Trump International Golf Links and Hotel in Ireland, and Trump Turnberry.

And despite his numerous properties stateside, the former president has named one of his Scottish venues his favourite course in the world.

During the video’s early stages, DeChambeau asked: “What is your favourite golf course on all your properties?”

Trump replied: “Well, Aberdeen is so incredible. Turnberry is rated number one in the world.”

How much it costs to play Trump Turnberry

Turnberry was the scene of Tom Watson’s Open Championship win in 1977, where the eight-time major winner narrowly edged out Jack Nicklaus. The Open, however, won’t return to the Scottish venue as long as Trump is the owner after the R&A’s announcement in 2021.

There are three courses at the resort, and here’s how much each one would cost if you wanted to make the trip to Scotland’s west coast.

The Ailsa Course—Turnberry’s main attraction—costs £595 for non-residents in peak season and £425 for residents.

The Arran Course, however, is more reasonable, with prime-time tee times pricing out at £65. Finally, the King Robert the Bruce Course costs £147 during peak season.

However, Trump Turnberry’s reputation continues to grow. Jon Daly, after missing the cut at The Open, headed north and experienced the property for the first time. “This place is amazing,” he said. “It is the best golf course in Scotland, I think. St Andrews is my baby, but I think I just found my new one.”
