Bryson DeChambeau has been one of the most in-form golfers during the 2025 season.

And now Claude Harmon has lifted the lid on why DeChambeau has been so successful.

DeChambeau has added real accuracy to his driving this season, so not only is he the longest player in the game but he is fairly straight off the tee as well.

The 31-year-old will now be looking ahead to Quail Hollow next week with real hope of tucking away his third major championship.

The PGA Championship venue is set up perfectly for DeChambeau, and he will probably enter the tournament as the third favourite behind Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy.

Harmon has worked closely alongside the likes of Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka and Ernie Els over the years.

So he certainly knows what it takes to reach the very top of the game.

And now he has opened up on something about DeChambeau that has hugely impressed him.

What Bryson DeChambeau does after every LIV Golf event

DeChambeau left the PGA Tour to join LIV Golf back in 2022.

The American has now won three times on the Saudi-backed golf league and is one of only two LIV players to have won a major since making the switch, alongside Brooks Koepka.

His next challenge will be to start ticking off major wins on an even more consistent basis.

He certainly works hard enough to put himself in with a chance of winning the biggest events.

Harmon explained on the Son of a Butch podcast how the two-time US Open champion leaves absolutely nothing to chance when it comes to the mechanics of his swing.

He said, “I think going into the PGA Bryson is really rounding into the form where you would think he could be one of the guys who has a chance to win. He had a chance to win last year. His game now, with the way that he plays, is major ready. He is going to be a threat. I think he is going to have chances to win every major this year. I think that’s how good his game is right now.

I continue to be impressed by how hard this guy works. I get to see him every single week. He is playing on LIV. I have never seen him not go to the driving range in the entire time. I have been to every LIV event and every single tournament I have been to he is the last person on the driving range. It doesn’t matter what he shoots, what the score was, how good it was. He and his caddie G-Bo are straight to the range. Dana Dahlquist was over with him last week. I asked him in Mexico City, we were talking about The Masters, and I said what did you learn. He started talking about his equipment and where he was hitting on the face with the irons.

The superpower that Bryson has is very much the superpower that I think Scottie Scheffler has. It’s him. They could not be more different. They are very different people. But I think one of Bryson’s massive superpowers, on top of the length that he has, is him. The way that he approaches the game, the way that he approaches golf and the way that he thinks. It’s incredibly unique. There is nobody in the game that thinks about the game Bryson does, practises how Bryson does, nobody in the game has equipment in the game Bryson does and nobody is willing to push the envelope with equipment.

When I talk to him about equipment I have no idea what he is talking about. When you look at his golf clubs and watch other people try and hit his golf clubs, they can’t get them airborne.

What Bryson DeChambeau is currently doing is ‘just dumb’

DeChambeau finally got a victory under his belt in 2025 at LIV Korea last week, having failed to win after being in contention on the final day during the previous three tournaments that he played.

The key to his fine recent form has been his driver, unsurprisingly.

Pat Perez said out in South Korea that it is ‘just dumb’ what DeChambeau is doing right now off the tee.

He said, He hit a three wood pin high on 15, it’s just dumb. I saw what I have seen for about five events now in a row. The driver is just unreal, where he is hitting this thing. I have never seen a guy hit it that straight and that far consistently. A lot of guys hit it long but he is in the middle of the fairway. He hit it past the bunker on 18 into an area that is 18 yards wide and hit nine iron in. He is just killing this thing. He is walking down the middle of every fairway and he is 30 or 40 by Luis and Gooch. It’s just incredible.

That driver is such a weapon. Where he is hitting that driver is just incredible.

If DeChambeau maintains the outstanding form he has shown with his driver this season, there is no doubt that he will contend to win The PGA Championship at Quail Hollow next week.
