Tommy Fleetwood might still be waiting for his first PGA Tour victory but while the frustration of not getting over the line remains, he’s still showing every other golfer on TOUR how to act with class.
Fleetwood came within a few holes of winning once more as he suffered a similar fate to which he endured at The Travelers when he lost to Keegan Bradley.
This time, it was good friend Justin Rose who took advantage, taking things to a playoff before beating J.J. Spaun over three holes to win out.
For Fleetwood, it’s a case of going back to the drawing board and going again.
However, while there is an element of being deflated for Fleetwood and those who want him to win, he is at least showing his class and leading the way when it comes to how to behave in defeat.

Tommy Fleetwood shows PGA Tour players how to behave despite FedEx St Jude loss
Over the course of 2025, we’ve seen players refusing to speak to the media and it’s caused quite the stir.
Collin Morikawa made a big meal out of his avoidance of media duties, while Rory McIlroy has also skipped media on more than one occasion.
However, the same cannot be said of our man Tommy Fleetwood.
After Fleetwood took a similar stance at The Travelers, the Englishman once again showed everyone how to do it by fronting up the media and speaking at the St Jude.
Not only that, but Fleetwood also took time out to sign autographs, pose for pictures, and hand out balls to the young fans in attendance.
That shows his true class and in reality, is bigger than anything that comes with winning an event.
There is very much something in Fleetwood’s behaviour that the rest of the field can take from and if he continues to front up, all he does is make those who fail to speak look even worse.
Tommy Fleetwood praised for speaking to the media
Tommy Fleetwood has always been a level-headed and down to earth sportsman. He never gets carried away, has had a hugely successful career, and goes about his business without fuss.
His ability to front up to the media is admirable as well and one of those who interviewed him, Damon Hack, was full of praise for Fleetwood.
Likewise, a number of fans jumped in to praise Fleetwood, with one fan labelling him a ‘class act’ and another noting how hard it must have been.
“Could see the pain in his eyes but he gave an incredibly honest assessment and that honesty is what will get him across the finish line soon. Winning comes “easy” for some and that leaves a lot of players bewildered as to why it’s so difficult for so many!”
With Fleetwood playing well, it surely won’t be long before he does get it done.
And when he does, you can bet your bottom dollar that the majority of players will be delighted for him.
