The opening round of Olympic Golf is in the bag and Bryson DeChambeau has had his say on what he’s seen from his fellow Americans.
DeChambeau’s name has been thrown around a lot this week as the LIV star misses out after being unable to accumulate the ranking points to qualify to compete at Le Golf National.
Of course, DeChambeau’s win at the US Open, coupled with his excellent content on YouTube with the likes of Donald Trump has seen his popularity surge.

However, he wasn’t part of the travelling USA team to Paris and instead, he’s sitting back and taking in the performances of Wyndham Clark, Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa.

For Team USA, things are in good shape despite Hideki Matsuyama being the round one leader, with Schauffele just a few shots back and Scheffler not much further down the field either.
And maintaining his professionalism and showing yet more class, DeChambeau has posted on social media to show his support for the USA guys.

Taking to X to voice his feelings on the opening round in Paris, DeChambeau has admitted he’d love to be out there but above all else, he is rooting for the team.
The Olympics are missing out with no Bryson DeChambeau
While everyone has to respect the rules and qualifying criteria in place, there is no denying that the Olympics is worse off for having no Bryson DeChambeau.
As we’ve seen on the PGA Tour events at times, golf simply misses the big characters and best players and Bryson is in both those categories.

In four years’ time, things might well be different for Team USA and Bryson might have the chance to play.
For now, he is simply making do with watching on and in fairness, a message like he’s sent here is what we’ve come to expect from him.
Still, Team USA will feel they’ll have had a better chance of gold with DeChambeau involved.
The action gets back underway early tomorrow morning as players look to put themselves in position to win over the weekend.
