He might have broken the internet this week by playing golf with Donald Trump but could Bryson DeChambeau really be America’s future president?
That’s the question that’s been put to DeChambeau today ahead of the LIV Golf event at JCB in the UK.
DeChambeau has emerged as one of the most popular figures in the world of sport and his YouTube video with former President Trump has proved a huge hit.
Trump and DeChambeau’s attempt at breaking 50 has garnered nearly seven million views in just a matter of days to become one of the biggest videos of the year.
But this weekend, it’s back to actual proper golf for DeChambeau, as he looks to win on the LIV Tour.
Naturally, there were plenty of questions to him in the pre-round press conferences. And some of them centred around talk of not only President Trump, but DeChambeau’s stance on actually running.
And as expected, Bryson entertained the question perfectly.

Bryson DeChambeau’s response when asked if he’s run for president
Speaking in the official LIV press event, DeChambeau cut an immediate smile when asked the question as the reporter suggested we could see a future President DeChambeau.
“Look DJT said he’d never do it and he’s obviously doing it now so you never know the positions of things, they may change down the road. But for me, probably not. I don’t think so. I’m going to play golf for the rest of my life,” DeChambeau said.
Brilliantly, his teammates took their opportunity to have a dig and giggle at their captain as well, with Anirban Lahiri saying ‘just thinking about it gives us chills’, while Paul Casey ribbed his skipper by saying ‘he’s struggling to run a team now, let alone anything else’.
Stranger things have happened!
He really is the man of the moment right now, isn’t he?
Bryson DeChambeau is causing a wave through golf and sport in general that hasn’t been see for some time and in a way, it’s really refreshing to witness.
As for running as president…well if anyone on either tour is going to do it, then Bryson DeChambeau is going to be among the top picks for golf fans.
Still, it’s a long way to the White House from the golf course and it would be truly remarkable – even by DeChambeau’s standards – if he did go for it down the line.
For now, we hope he sticks to golf and YouTube and getting those guests on he’s hinted at after the round with Trump.
