Donald Trump and Bryson DeChambeau stunned the golfing world after the pair decided to collaborate in the LIV Golf star’s latest YouTube video.

Before The Open Championship at Royal Troon, DeChambeau had offered to host a match between Joe Biden and Trump on his channel.

And, after reaching out to Trump, the 78-year-old agreed to shoot round with the two-time US Open winner. DeChambeau had to clarify that the break 50 challenge was being used as a fundraiser for the USA’s veterans.

In what was an enthralling watch, the former President’s swing left many golf fans shocked.

Before the challenge, Trump went on record saying he was a 2.5 handicap golfer. Clearly, that’s an impressive level, and fans around the world felt he was perhaps exaggerating his abilities.

However, after hitting nearly every fairway and making a stand-alone eagle on the 12th, Trump’s golf was excellent for someone of his age.

And the golf fans agree.

“So in a strange turn of events, it turns out that, despite having a funny-looking swing, Trump is indeed a very, very good golfer,” wrote one fan. “Definitely capable of winning club tournaments and legitimately a single-digit handicap.”

While another added: “I just watched a few minutes and cannot believe it’s real.”

This fan was stunned by just how good the former President was. “He is so much better than I thought. He’s depressingly good.”

“I watched the entire thing,” another said. ‘I’ll say for his age, he pretty good. If Bryson knew that course, they definitely would’ve shot under 50.”

Finally, this fan said, “Lol, this was actually really good when he hit that drive and was walking after it. I love it.”

Is Donald Trump a legitimate 2.5 handicap

There have been rumours that Trump is rather favourable to himself on the golf course at times, with short putts supposedly picked up long before they hit the back of the hole.

At one point in his career, there’s no doubt Trump would’ve been pushing the lower single figures; his driving his testament to that.

However, given his physical limitations, which have emerged with age, it’s hard to envisage him playing to 2.5.

His work off the tee was particularly impressive, but with several missed putts and duffed chips, his lower single-figure days appear to be long gone.
