LIV Golf Adelaide has proven to be one of the most popular events on the breakaway league’s schedule.
The Australian crowds have embraced LIV’s presence, and the atmosphere created at The Grange is reminiscent of that at the PGA Tour’s WM Phoenix Open.
Clearly, the event is the blueprint for LIV. Right now, specific stops haven’t provided the same level of interest and energy.
YouTube sensation Bryson DeChambeau is constantly looking to grow the game of golf, and on Friday, the two-time US Open winner was asked how he sees LIV Golf developing in Australia.
How big will LIV Golf be in Australia in ten years?
Speaking during his post-round press conference, DeChambeau admitted that LIV Golf Adelaide is what he thought every event would be like.
“I think only God knows that. I don’t know exactly what it is going to be like,” DeChambeau said when asked about the future of LIV in Australia.

“I know it’s going to continue to be bigger and better each and every year. Certainly this is one of the best LIV events, if not the best LIV event on our schedule and it’s a joy coming back here with the people and the fans and the atmosphere. This is what LIV Golf is about.
“This is what we thought it was going to be every single week, and it is going to get there. We are going to work to make that continue to make that happen but this is what we want every single week. It’s a lot of fun playing out here.”
Bryson DeChambeau’s first round at LIV Golf Adelaide
DeChambeau is off to a solid start after day one in Adelaide. The American is four under and two shots back of leader Sam Horsfield.
Starting on the 18th, DeChambeau made seven birdies and was firmly in contention before he ran into trouble on the par-five ninth.
A double-bogey seven hindered the reigning US Open champ. However, DeChambeau bounced back with two more birdies to close out his round.
Bryson DeChambeau makes claim about Australian golf
Earlier in the week, Brooks Koepka highlighted the firm conditions in Adelaide, and DeChambeau alluded to the difficulty of the course during LIV’s post-round show.
“It was difficult. Very difficult,” DeChambeau said. “The type of style is fun. I just love and enjoy the test of golf over here, especially when the wind is down.
“I am not the best wind player, but I like the bounciness of the course, firm greens, and firm surroundings.”
DeChambeau struggled in the wind during the 2024 Open Championship at Royal Troon. The American finished nine over and missed the cut by a distance.
