Bryson DeChambeau fell just short of another major championship win, finishing T2 at the PGA Championship.

DeChambeau has congratulated Scottie Scheffler on his title, with the world number one having clinched a maiden PGA Championship win.

It follows Scheffler’s double success at The Masters, and represents a 15th PGA Tour win for the American.

Scheffler finished on 11-under at Quail Hollow, which played host to the second major championship of 2025.

DeChambeau meanwhile finished five shots back on six-under, where he was joined by Harris English and Davis Riley.

Bryson DeChambeau ‘really stung’ by four holes at Quail Hollow

Analysing his final round one-under 70, the LIV Golf star had bittersweet emotions about a major championship near miss.

“I mean look it was a tough round of golf out there,” he told Golf Channel. “I played solid. Not making birdie on 10, 11 or 12 really stung and then not getting up and down [on 13].

“I hit a great shot and then not getting up and down. I had some incredible up and downs on 14 and 15, that kind of put some life back into me.

“But 10 through 13 really stunted me and if I had birdied 10 and got up and down, I birdie eight. Don’t double 17 and bogey 16.

“I mean you name it, I got a dozen shots I could look back on and think man that could have been way different then we are looking at a different story.

“It’s another top five. Always proud to top five in a major, I feel like I am playing well when I am doing that. But, I mean, it’s disappointing that I didn’t get the job done as that is what I came here to do.”

Bryson DeChambeau scoring stats in PGA Championship near miss

Former PGA Tour player DeChambeau was one of the in-form players heading into the week at Quail Hollow in North Carolina.

He had just emerged victorious at LIV Golf Korea, with that success placing him second in the individual standings for the season.

DeChambeau had also impressed at The Masters last month, finishing T5 as Rory McIlroy triumphed at Augusta National.

And unlike many other players across LIV Golf and the PGA Tour, he was consistent at Quail Hollow, carding rounds of 71, 68, 69 and 70.

But nobody was preventing Scheffler from lifting the trophy, with the world number one in formidable form throughout the week.

DeChambeau will, however, have another chance at a third major win next month at the US Open, where he will enter as the defending champion.
