Whatever you think of Bryson DeChambeau, it cannot be denied that the LIV Golf star has deserved enormous credit in each of the last two PGA Championships.

Ultimately, Scottie Scheffler ran away with the PGA Championship. He was able to make a bogey on the last to win by five at Quail Hollow to secure his third major title.

Bryson DeChambeau meanwhile, had to settle for second place for the second year in a row. Of course, the 31-year-old finished one shot back of Xander Schauffele at Valhalla.

The margin of victory may have been much larger this time around, but there was a familiar feeling around DeChambeau’s actions after his round.

Bryson DeChambeau lauded for his actions as Scottie Scheffler wins the PGA Championship

DeChambeau was lauded for congratulating Schauffele 12 months ago. And it was a similar story on this occasion, with the Crushers captain being one of the first to congratulate Scheffler.

He simply said: ‘Great job, proud of you’.

Unsurprisingly, plenty of viewers have lauded DeChambeau’s gesture. One fan wrote on social media: ‘Scottie is the best player in the world, Bryson is the best ambassador for the game of golf no doubt!

Another said: ‘All class.’ One wrote: ‘What a guy! Unlike others out there‘.

Others pointed out the difference between DeChambeau and the current Masters champion, with one fan writing: ‘This is why I root for Bryson. Win or lose class act. While on the other hand, Rory skipped media the entire week.’

And plenty were keen to express their belief that DeChambeau is being genuine in his actions amid skepticism from others. One viewer wrote: ‘People will always find a reason to hate on Bryson but time and time again, he’s gracious in defeat. I believe that says a lot about who he is.’

Bryson DeChambeau not the only LIV Golf star to wait around to congratulate Scottie Scheffler at Quail Hollow

DeChambeau was not the only LIV Golf star who stuck around to congratulate Scheffler, with Jon Rahm also making sure to speak to the world number one. US Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley was also in attendance.

Rahm had come closer than anyone else to snatching the title away from Scheffler on Sunday at Quail Hollow. The pair were tied for the lead as the 28-year-old made the turn.

Unfortunately for the Spaniard, a poor finish dashed his hopes of a third major title of his own. He played the final three holes in five over par to fall back into a tie for eighth.

But clearly, there is so much respect for what Scheffler is doing right now.
