Bryson DeChambeau shot a phenomenal final-round 58 to clinch the title at LIV Golf Greenbrier this time last year.

DeChambeau could play at the 2028 Olympics, with the American potentially playing for Team USA given his current form.

He carded a stunning 58 at LIV Golf Greenbrier 2023, shattering the record for The Old White course with a 12-under round.

It helped clinch his first LIV Golf victory, with his Crushers team going on to win the LIV Golf title that year.

DeChambeau now returns to the scene of his superb round last August, having finished the event on 23 under par.

Bryson DeChambeau says how his life has changed since Greenbrier

The American has since won the US Open, with DeChambeau earning a ‘crazy’ amount of money in 2024.

He now looked back on the famous performance that started it all, saying in his Greenbrier press conference: “I can tell you that was the day my life changed for the better for sure. Previous to that I had been struggling with my golf game, not really understanding how to get the job done and it had been a while since I felt like I had done anything.

“Played well at Valderrama, did well at the PGA, but still didn’t feel like I had it to win. Coming here last year I had this new piece of equipment, driver in play, and it meant that I could hit it a lot straighter.

“Ultimately that was a massive difference for me in order to be more comfortable on the golf course, hit it straighter with the distance I have. Having some wedges into greens and having a good wedge game that week and making putts.

“It was like everything just lined up finally again, like I have seen it do again in the past. That jump started me to playing like I have been this year, to winning the US Open this year and continuing to play some really stellar golf. I couldn’t be more excited this was the place it started at because I always loved it.”

Can Bryson DeChambeau finish his LIV Golf season on a high?

The Crushers GC captain has impressed since defecting to LIV, winning at LIV Golf Greenbrier and LIV Golf Chicago in 2023.

But his performances on the PGA Tour have also attracted plenty of attention, namely his US Open victory.

The American produced a superb display to edge out Rory McIlroy at Pinehurst, staying focused as the Northern Irishman lost his way.

DeChambeau had previously been threatening to upset the status quo on the PGA Tour, finishing T6 at the Masters and second at the PGA Championship.

He will now be aiming for a strong end to the LIV Golf season, having suffered a disappointing end to his majors run by missing the cut at The Open.

The two-time major winner currently occupies eighth place in the individual standings, with his Crushers side top of the team standings.
