LIV Golf is getting set for its penultimate tournament of the 2024 regular season, so The Golfing Gazette covers everything you need to know about LIV Golf Greenbrier.
Every major race in LIV Golf is likely to go down to the wire and make this weekend’s event a key occasion. Only six players representing five different teams even remain in contention to be crowned as the 2024 LIV Golf Champion at the final tournament in Chicago in September.
It is even possible that Torque GC captain, Joaquin Niemann, wraps his hands on the title at LIV Golf Greenbrier. But the Chilean has to win the tournament and hope John Rahm is only able to achieve third or lower. The Spaniard is also coming off his first LIV Golf win in the UK.

Everything you need to know about LIV Golf Greenbrier 2024
LIV Golf Greenbrier marks the league’s second visit to the West Virginia course and is also a milestone occasion. The first round will mark the 100th since LIV Golf kicked off back in June 2022 at the Centurion Club in London. LIV Golf has visited 22 cities over the past two years.
This weekend’s event is also a pivotal tournament for Sam Horsfield with the Englishman in 24th place and on the bubble of the LIV Golf Lock Zone. Sebastian Munoz is just 0.22 points behind Horsfield as the lead Open Zone player ahead of LIV Golf Greenbrier this weekend.
Horsfield and Munoz could both improve their Lock Zone standings with Graeme McDowell suspended from LIV Golf Greenbrier, as well. The Smash GC star will serve a one-event ban for violating the league’s anti-doping policy in Nashville by using a decongestant medicine.

Predictions for LIV Golf Greenbrier 2024
Sam Stone: “Bryson DeChambeau has had a quiet few months since his US Open win but I am backing him to reproduce his remarkable 2023 performance this week. DeChambeau famously shot 58 in Virginia and could go low again if he finds top form.”
Peter Lynch: “It’s hard to look past Jon Rahm to win LIV Golf Greenbrier, with the Spaniard certain to be seeking immediate revenge after his Olympics collapse.
“He’s in fine form, and momentum is definitely on his side more than most going into this one. The fiery Spanish star does, however, need to keep his cool in moments of adversity if he is to come out on top.”
Lee Connor: “I’m going to be pretty boring here and just go with Jon Rahm to win again and his Legion XIII team to mop up the team event, too. Rahm seems to have found a bit of something in his game again. so I think he and his team will kick on now.”
