Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau are set to take their relationship full circle when they team up to take on Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas on December 17.

Koepka and DeChambeau have quashed a long-standing feud that dates back to their time on the PGA Tour. Now, the LIV duo are set to team up and battle for the staggering $10m prize pot available to the winners of the upcoming ‘grudge’ match.

Clearly, the move to LIV has eased tensions between the pair, with DeChambeau now a far cry from the bold and sometimes divisive youngster who split opinion on the PGA Tour.

Koepka, to some extent, has become more likeable since his move to LIV. The American, aside from a minor incident at the 2024 US Open, appears far more relaxed in the media.

Now, ahead of the match in Las Vegas, Koepka, DeChambeau, McIlroy, and Scheffler have undertaken media duties for Golf Digest, and some of the remarks are particularly eye-catching.

When asked to talk about DeChambeau, Koepka found five rather kind ways to describe his teammate, who he once didn’t have the time of day for.

“Quirky, opinionated, but very passionate, very driven and very hard-working,” Koepka said.

DeChambeau also shared his thoughts on his compatriot. “Hard worker, too, by the way,” DeChambeau added. “It’s funny; we have some of the same practice routines after a round. I’ve seen him hit golf balls for two hours.”

Koepka and DeChambeau’s issues initially stemmed back to 2019 when Koepka hit out at the Scientist’s slow play.

A back-and-forth would ensue over the next two years before a viral clip emerged of Koepka rolling his eyes at his compatriot whilst being interviewed at the 2021 PGA Championship.

DeChambeau accepts that there were issues in the past but now believes the time is right for the duo to join forces on the course.

“We had a tough relationship in the past. We’ve come together and said, ‘You know what, it’s time to show them who we really are’,” he added.
