Brooks Koepka is once again leading a LIV Golf event as the five-time major winner looks for his third win of 2024 at the breakaway league’s Individual Championship.
Bolingbrook Golf Club is hosting this weekend’s LIV Golf Chicago event, and the American is firmly in control after carding a stunning eight-under 62.
Despite consistently challenging, Koepka doesn’t consider 2024 a success, with his major championship form was not up to his usual high standards.
Koepka slammed his major championship season at LIV Golf Greenbrier, and the 34-year-old will no doubt be looking to improve when the Masters roll around in April.
However, the American looked back to his best in testing conditions on Friday, and Koepka has now shared his thoughts on the course at Bolingbrook Golf Club.
Brooks Koepka shares honest thoughts on greens at LIV Golf Chicago

Koepka currently sits four shots clear of second place and appeared to master the greens in Chicago. Though, despite making six birdies, Koepka admitted the putting surfaces were challenging.
“I think the greens, it was very difficult,” Koepka said during his post-round press conference. “I think from what Ricky told me, they’ve firmed up a lot since Tuesday. I thought it was interesting. Some of them were quite soft, and then I think we got to the par-3, I don’t know what it was, 12, 13 on the back, and that green seemed to be very firm, and then from then on in, they seemed to be really firm.”
The five-time major winner added: “I don’t know if that was from the wind drying them out. Yesterday was warm, as well. It’s definitely drying up, which is nice. I like it when golf courses get a little firm and fiery.”
Brooks Koepka makes it look easy on challenging day at LIV Golf Chicago
On a day where only 19 players broke par, Koepka made it look relatively simple. When at his best, there are very few who can match the American.
His game is solid in all areas, and the 34-year-old’s desire to win is unmatched. It was only 2023 when Koepka won his last major championship, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him bounce back when the new year begins.
Koepka’s career has revolved around the four biggest events. He would undoubtedly trade in all his LIV Golf accolades and prize money for another major.
Given performance toward the back end of 2024, the 34-year-old landing major number six doesn’t feel too far away.
